The Dinosaurs Continue Their March of Destruction

The first thing the munchkin said upon waking this morning was “WHERE are the DINOSAURS?” That means she’s enjoying all of this, I hope! Whether you’re here for the spectacle or hunting for some Dinovember ideas of your own, I hope you’re enjoying the journey.

So what HAVE those sneaky dinos been up to the last week or so? Well, it all started a few days after Hallowe’en, when they got a bit judgmental about me not taking down the decorations quickly enough (side note — it’s really weird to drive around right now and see half the houses with their Christmas lights up and half the houses with ghosts and goblins out front…)

The day after that, the dinosaurs decided to have a little bit of relaxation after creating all that havoc. They weren’t sure what to watch on TV, so they went with the munchkin’s default, and we wound up being treated to some early morning Ms Rachel.

After spending some time with the TV, the dinosaurs were ready to stretch their creative muscles. They got into the blocks while the munchkin slept. This time someone tried to stop them, but things didn’t go so well for our friend Mr Pineapple Head, who wound up imprisoned until morning!

When we read What The Dinosaurs Did last Night, the absolute favorite page is where the dinos get into the laundry room. We have to return to it SEVERAL times throughout the reading. With that in mind, their next destination was obvious. Since we’d never taken them off the main level before, we left a bit of a trail to make sure they were discovered…

At this point the (ahem) dinos were feeling a bit sick and awfully tired, so the next night they pulled out the sensory bin. This actually turned out to be a huge hit. Dinos swimming? Getting in sand? Making a mess? Honestly, what could go wrong???

And that brings us to tonight! The poor munchkin had to clean up her toys as usual, but the instant she turned her back, here came the dinosaurs. These prehistoric critters REALLY love cooking.

Said Munchkin is currently in her bed lecturing her stuffies (“Spiderman! It! IS! BEDTIME!”) and doesn’t seem SUPER interested in going to sleep anytime soon, so here’s hoping she won’t get up and discover this any earlier than tomorrow morning! Stay tuned for more Dinoventures throughout the month of Dinovember!
